Haunter is a Ghost & Poison Pokémon which evolves from Gastly. It is vulnerable to Ground, Ghost, Psychic and Dark moves. If one beckons you while floating in darkness, you must never approach it.

Haunter's strongest moveset is Shadow Claw & Shadow Ball and it has a Max CP of 1,963. They feed on the life force of living things, waiting in the darkness for unwary prey to wander by.

Then, they sneak up on their victims and lick them. This causes uncontrollable shuddering in their prey, who are slowly drained of life until they die. They may trip unwary travelers or place ghostly hands on their shoulders to scare them.

When a Haunter is around, those nearby feel paranoid, as if they are being watched (which they are). Though research has shown that such a diet is not very energy-efficient, it is believed that some Haunter have learned to feed on these feelings because they are “sustainable;” by not killing victims, some Haunter have successfully used cities as “farms” of sorts, scaring people as necessary and feeding on their fright. Many ghost “hot-spots” are in fact popular Haunter feeding grounds.

Since Haunter detest light, well-lit towns are usually devoid of them. In some regions is said that Haunter come out on moonless nights looking for victims to lay curses on. It is because of this that it is believed it is from another dimension.

It can also sap away the life force of a target by licking them with its tongue. These licks will always cause constant convulsions to a licked being until it dies. It may also be based on depictions of ghosts in Japanese mythology, which are often depicted with long tongues.   In 1985, on the eve of her sixteenth birthday, Lisa (Abigail Breslin) discovers that she is stuck in time, living the same day over and over with her parents Bruce (Peter Outerbridge) and Carol (Michelle Nolden) and her little brother Robbie (Peter Da Cunha).  

Soon she learns that they are dead and trapped on the day that they were murdered but she finds that she can contact other people.

Out of the blue, a stranger (Stephen Mc Hattie) comes to her house telling that he is going to fix the telephone line but indeed to threaten her to stop the contacts. Lisa finds that she is contacting victims of the killer in different timelines including the future, and the killer's name is Oscar. "Haunter" is an intriguing ghost story with a promising idea of an evil spirit, but with a deceptive conclusion.

The story is a combination of "The Others" with "Groundhog Day" and "The Twilight Zone", with good performance of Abigail Breslin. Haunter (Japanese: ゴースト Ghost) is a dual-type Ghost/Poison Pokémon introduced in Generation I. It evolves from Gastly starting at level 25 and evolves into Gengar when traded or when exposed to a Linking Cord.
